Cerro Kishtwar - An Ice Cold Story

In 2017, Thomas Huber, Stephan Siegrist and Julian Zanker climbed a new line on the north-west face of Cerro Kishtwar (6173m) in Kashmir, India. In this week's Friday Night Video, the team faces temperatures of -20 degrees, spin drift, icy cracks and exhaustion from seven days on the cold wall.

The mountain has an interesting history which began when Andy Perkins and Brendan Murphy had to retreat after a 17-day siege in 1992. The peak's first ascent came a year later when Mick Fowler and Steve Sustad reached the summit. The mountains were inaccessible shortly after due to the territorial conflict between India and Pakistan. The area reopened in 2010.
