Rob Matheson on Pink Panther - 50 Years On
This week's Friday Night Video takes us to Dow Crag in the Lake District where Rob Matheson is taking on Pink Panther (E2 5c), 50 years after he made the first ascent.
The video continues Rob's excellent series where he provides commentary on the demands and complexities of trad climbing.
A pioneer of the Lakeland climbing scene, local legend Rob is still climbing hard in his 70s and has recently been making repeat ascents of iconic climbs he created 50 years ago; imposing and inspiring lines such as Paladin (E3 6a), Cruel Sister (E3 5c) and Holocaust (E4 6a), often on camera under his 'Angry Pensioner' alias and accompanied by his son Craig, who's alright at climbing too.
