Shoshala: A Big Wall in Kinnaur, India
In 2010, Swiss climber Elie Chevieux discovered a Big Wall in the Indian region of Kinnaur. Boulderers Fred Nicole and Bernd Zangerl tipped him off about the area's massive potential for new routes. In 2011, he decided to return to the impressive wall and establish a new route with Yannick Boissenot and Giovanni Quirici, who, sadly, lost his life shortly after. After two months in India, three weeks in the base camp and only three days of fine weather, the team was able to climb a 700-meter long route up to the 4,700-meter high peak.
