A Dream of Edwin Drummond: The Great Wall

This week's Friday Night Video is a clip from Paul Diffley/Hot Aches Productions' latest feature: A Dream of Edwin Drummond. The commentary in the film comes from Ed's wonderful essay, 'Great Wall', which was published in Ken Wilson's 'Hard Rock' and is considered to be one of the finest climbing essays ever written. The essay describes Ed's internal monologue as he struggles to make an early repeat of one of the hardest routes of the day, Great Wall, on the mighty Welsh cliff of Clogwyn Du'r Arddu.

Watch our interview with filmmaker Paul Diffley where he discusses his chance encounter with Ed Drummond whilst making The Long Hope, the themes throughout his latest film, along with the ascents, poetry and political activism that shaped one of British Climbing's finest.
