Please use this thread to post moderating requests, problem crags and suggestions. If you do post about a crag then please use the Logbooks 'Insert crag link...' box above the reply box so that a link is included which makes things lot easier to sort than if just a crag name is written.
If you moderate a crag but find yourself ignoring the update emails, or you have lost interest, or you have moved away then please could you remove yourself as moderator using the button at the base of the crag moderation page. Then reply to this thread with 'Crag Available' and the crag link inserted so that someone else can volunteer.
If you would like to moderate a crag, and feel you could do a better job than the current moderator, then reply to this thread with 'Crag Requested', the crag name and link so that we can arrange a switch if appropriate. We can now add second moderators to crags as well.
Thanks for everyone's help with UKC Logbook moderating. We are aware that this is sometimes a tiresome task and all your efforts are appreciated.
The previous UKC Moderator threads have got too big and has now been locked. Here they are for reference
Please could you add me as second moderator for Millook. - A load of new stuff to add which is too late to make it into the guide...
Could you please add me as a second moderator for Craigton. (have spoken to current mod. and we'll co-mod)
Can Gwynant Roadbloc be renamed Gwynant Roadbloc?
That's what it's been called in the last two guidebooks, so makes it easier to find.
I'm keen to tidy this up and cleanse duplicate climbs etc. Thanks.
Request to be added as a moderator to Compton Martin Quarry, I have the current Mod deepstar’s permission he just couldn’t work out how to do it.
I Paul, can you make me moderator of Sheriffmuir Buttress(es) please?
i've conatacted the current moderator and we have agreed to switch.
Please could you add https://www.ukclimbing.com/user/profile.php?id=90168 as a second moderator for https://www.ukclimbing.com/user/profile.php?id=90168
Could you add me as second moderator for Ratho quarry please? (I note the current moderator is banned from UKC and the Ratho page is in need of being updated...)
Please could you add me to: https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/crags/tintagel_north-12254
There's a bit of tidying to do. Thanks.
Is it OK to add me to Lochnagar
Can sort some updates for it, thanks
> Please could you add https://www.ukclimbing.com/user/profile.php?id=90168 as a second moderator for https://www.ukclimbing.com/user/profile.php?id=90168
You pasted the profile twice instead of the crag.
Sorry -https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/showlog.php?id=90168 Richard is writing the guide for this part of the Atlantic Coast.
Please can I be added as a moderator to Com Head and
Please can I be added as a moderator to UKC Logbook - Rumps Point 3039
I'm happy to help out on any of the roaches area crags.
I've added you to a bunch of crags around that location. Thanks for the help.
Crag Requested. Ruin Bank Woods.
Nothing wrong with Paul and Jack's work, but I've been developing some new boulders round there so might be easier if I can add in the new buttresses and get the climbs in the right order.
Crag Requested. Cookie Cliff
I've been adding routes to this crag for the last year or two. The current moderator hasn't checked any of them. I have more to add and some re-organizing could be done.
Sorry, there's only 2 mods per crag. You mind liaising with the existing mods to see if either wants to give up their position?
Just had a word with Jack and he's happy to pass it on.
I'm moderator for this crag:
I think it's too big, it includes different crags which are kilometers away from each other both vertically and horizontally. Is there an easy way I can split some of the buttresses into separate crags?
You can add the news crags here: https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/addcrag.php
Once they're approved and made public, please drop us a message (https://www.ukclimbing.com/general/email.php?d=8) and an admin can move the climbs/buttresses between crags.
One more Ruin Bank thing. There's an empty duplicate record here which should be got rid of.
Thanks, I've linked Ruin Bank Woods to the BMC RAD entry and overridden their text with the old text.
Could I be added to Pike Hill please? Current mod seems to be inactive.
Can you add me to all the Kalymnos sectors please. I’m happy to co-moderate with Dave and/or be sole moderator for Chris’s-as preferred.
Dave and Chris both know.
Can you please add me as a second moderator to this crag please.
Please coud you add me as a second moderator to https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/crags/morwenna_slabs-2969#maps
Hi Paul could I be added as an additional mod on
Descriptions desperately needed for blocs new and old
Crag available - Traprain Law
I’ve left the central belt so will no longer be contributing to the polish here. There may or may not be much more to moderate on this now anyway but the odd route magics itself out of nowhere from time to time.
Any chance I could get joint moderation of Hare Crags? Some new buttresses to add and quite a few problems. Current moderator seems a bit sleepy.
on this theme, I sent a request on 09 May to Michael, the moderator for Montanejos but as yet have not received a reply
sorry Paul, there is a misunderstanding
I was making an enquiry to Michael about a bird ban in Montanejos . I had no intention of proposing myself as a moderator
Ah, no worries. If you submit a change to the crag info then Michael will get an alert to approve the change: https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/addcrag.php?id=3525
I usually approve changes for the crags in the morning if it's a simple change too.
Cheers. Could 'Campsite' be removed from the crag title?
I'm not sure why but I noticed here - Roaches Skyline that there are a load of boulders that are mis-labelled as boulder circuits, even though the circuit tick box is unticked!
I'm the moderator for Saint-Loup in Switzerland. The only two photos here are actually for the completely unrelated mountain Pic Saint-Loup (in France). Is there any way the location tag could be removed on the photos? I'm worried it's giving a slightly misleading impression of the crag!
Good afternoon, any chance of being added to Dalt Quarry so I can update the position, order and grades of the routes? Many thanks for your time, Emilio.
Meltemi Sector. Kalymnos.
west way and mistral are showing as boulder probs, but are in the database as sport....??? I can’t fix that
I suspect this was the same problem Danny reported above that Andy fixed. It looks OK now. Thanks for reporting it.
Please could you add "SimonStyan" as a second moderator for Cleeve Hill ?
Can I be added to Neist? Got various updates and developments to sort.
Crag requested, West Weares.
I've been involved in some of the new development here, none of the new routes have been verified for months.
Afternoon, any chance of been added to Hagg Wood to update some descriptions with ease? I’ll hopefully get some crag photos soon to help too.
I've just taken on Craig Pant Ifan (Tremadog) as a moderator as I noticed it was needing one. I've been going through comments/updates and have a couple questions if anyone can help:
1) I need to delete a few duplicate climbs. I therefore need to transfer some peoples ticks from one climb to another. Any idea how to go about this? The moderator FAQ mentions it but doesn't say how.
2) What's the meaning of the hollow star in the star voting system? I'd always assumed it was for unrepeated routes where repeat ascents hadn't yet confirmed the stars (common to many guidebooks), but thinking about it that doesn't really make sense given that anyone can vote a hollow star, and there aren't 2 or 3 hollow stars for proposed 2* or 3* new routes. So what's the story with the hollow star? I've provisionally assigned a proposed new route a hollow star (instead of the FA's proposed 1*) and want to check this is right.
Apologies if all this has been covered in the past, I did a search and couldn't find anything.
Would be keen to clean up Stac an Eich, Ballachulish. Stac An Eich things are a bit jumbled.
> 1) I need to delete a few duplicate climbs. I therefore need to transfer some peoples ticks from one climb to another. Any idea how to go about this? The moderator FAQ mentions it but doesn't say how.
Just click on Delete. If there's existing ticks, it'll ask you which route to move them to on the next page.

Hollow star is 0 stars. I can see why this looks confusing now, sorry about that.
That zero star seems totally obvious now! Cheers for clarifying.
Can No match for crag id:12095 be deleted as a separate crag, and included as part of Achmelvich Crags?
There aren't any climbs added to it anyway, but there is one photo.
Crag requested Binnein Shuas
Lots of new routes to sort out, many of which I have climbed or belayed.
Crag requested: Pass of Ballater have discussed with current moderator, he is happy for me to be added as 2nd moderator and tidy up the new climbs.
Crag requested: Craig Corn Arn as above, please add me as 2nd Mod.
Duplicate crags for Hoghton here...
All the boulders at Lawrencefield - Bole Hill Sidings at the bottom of the page - should not be classed as boulder circuits. I tried to change them to standard boulders but it didn’t seem to work!
Only the full circuit should be tagged as a circuit like here: La Canche aux Merciers
The individual problems should be listed as normal boulder problems.
I agree but it appears that they’ve been added as circuits and I can’t change them back to standard boulder problems. eg.
Sorry there was a bug in displaying the data. should be fixed now
Crag available - Wissenfluh
User rlrs emailed me about taking it over - think he is fairly local and alas I no longer am
So happy just to hand it over.
Please could you add me as second moderator to Wissenfluh, I have cleared it with the existing moderator. Some small updates to do.
I'm happy to clean up the duplication between No match for crag id:3459, No match for crag id:13743 and Foel Goch 831m (Glyderau). They should all be merged into one crag really.
Also, talking of Foel Goch, I noticed it's a little messy trying to distinguish between the different Foel Gochs across N Wales. I suggest the following name changes would make this clearer:
Foel Goch 611m (near Bala) could be renamed "Foel Goch 611m (near Bala)".
Foel Goch 605m (near Llanberis) could be renamed "Foel Goch 605m (near Llanberis)".
Foel Goch 831m (Glyderau) could be renamed "Foel-goch 831m (Glyderau)" [if not obsolete from merging above].
Please could you add me as second moderator to Pantymwyn (Devil's Gorge)? I'd like to tidy up how the independent and link-up routes and boulder problems are presented.
Done the merge, renames and added you as a mod for Foel Goch 831m (Glyderau)
Thanks for these changes.
Noticed that the BMC RAD link for High Tor, Matlock is to some other esoteric High Tor in the East Midlands
OK, some stuff there needs moving to other crags, variously Craig Simdde Sian, Gravestones/ Hidden Wall/ Yr Ochr Wen/ Twll Tin, Ponc Knoll and Cwm Glas Bach Boulders. I've put buttress dividers to show what goes where. It's a bit of a mess, that Clogwyn Mawr Cwmglas area.
Hi please can you make me co mod for Gruinard Bay crags https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/crags/gruinard_bay-2611
It's currently a bit of mess with buttresses and climbs all over the place.
Please could you merge these two crags under the name: Tarascon (Vallon de la Leque).
Could I be added as a second mod for Odin Cave https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/crags/odin_cave-16967 ? I want to do a little clean up and add a couple of new things.
Please could you add me as second moderator to https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/crags/higher_sharpnose_point-15987
Please could you also add me as second mod for Baggy Point - Needs updating in line with the new guide.
The current moderator is inactive. He was last there in 2006 and only climbed one route. Also he appears to be inactive on the forum since 2011.
I was up there on Friday some of the grading is hopelessly wrong. Please would you hand the crag over to me and I'll tidy it up.
The previous mod had already relinquished it. I've added you as the main mod.
Sorry I meant Dove Nest Crag! But I'll happily do both.
No problem, added you to that one. You can remove yourself from a crag using the button at the bottom of the moderation page.
Can you add me as the second moderator for all crags between and including Thorn’s Beach Slabs and Lower Penhallic so that I can bring anything that needs it in line with the bit of the new guide that I’m writing?
I’m already the moderator for some of the crags along this stretch of coast but Mark Kemball has suggested that it would be a good idea if I have access to all of them for moderation purposes.
Would you prefer me to send links to all of them or can you manage without?
Could you add me as extra mod for the Whangie, East Dunbartonshire?
Hi Richard, it would be great if you could send me a list of crag links please? email@example.com
CanNo match for crag id:24796 be combined with the rest of Rubha Hunish? Also can I be added to moderate the latter?
The Pagoda buttress on Kinder south looks like it's location is wrong looking at the satellite map. I belive it is the rocks north of the path and east of it's current location where Noe Stool is, unfortunately I can't change it.
Do others just accept everything that gets sent through as new or do you actually look if it's new or not?
Myself, if I know its been done before even if its not recorded I don't. A crag could end up with hundreds of pointless eliminates which just confuse people.
> Myself, if I know its been done before even if its not recorded I don't. A crag could end up with hundreds of pointless eliminates which just confuse people.
I think just do as you're already doing. Sounds like a reasonable approach to me.
> A crag could end up with hundreds of pointless eliminates which just confuse people.
There are some pretty mindboggling examples of this, where pretty much every conceivable configuration of holds gets a name and quite often some stars on here.
I doubt it's a priority, but it would be handy if you could choose to show/hide climbs that are marked as 'stupid link-ups and eliminates for local obsessives'
Message for @Gambit
Hi, looking to add a new boulder called SXBW located at 53.340239, -1.609446. Doesn't seem to be included on here, on the Rockfax app or in the Rockfax books for either Burbage West which is nearest or Higgar Tor which is second nearest.
I've 7 or 8 problems in the V0 & V1 range to add with pics that me and a friend have been playing with while I regain confidence after a mishap at Stanage.
If you can create the buttress then I'm happy to populate the rest, I think I can remember it all after being mod for Cookson Park Boulder.
I've added the boulder to the crag and added you as a crag mod for Burbage West
> I've added the boulder to the crag and added you as a crag mod for Burbage West
Thanks for that, I think I've spotted an issue with the Rockfax app after uploading stuff through the website here but I'll give it 24 hours to update / upload (and recheck my work) before raising the issue properly.
