The Berghaus Hyper 100 jacket has picked up its second major trade award in less than a year. The jacket has won an ISPO Gold Award in the outdoor apparel category. Designed and engineered by the Berghaus MtnHaus™ innovation team, the Hyper 100 is the world’s lightest full mountain waterproof jacket in a three layer fabric, weighing under 100g (size medium). The jacket also won a gold in the apparel category of the 2016 OutDoor Industry Awards last July.
Sun Bin, a member of the Chinese National Climbing Team and the ISPO Awards jury, comments: "It’s the world’s lightest 3-layer waterproof jacket. With clever pattern cutting and details, and being lightweight, comfortable and functional, it is a real innovation!"
The Hyper 100 is an ultra-lightweight waterproof designed for fast and light mountain days. It is made out of Berghaus’ own 3L Hydroshell® Elite Pro and is the most breathable waterproof jacket that the company has ever made. The style is part of the new Berghaus Extrem Light range for spring/summer 2017, which aims to answer the demand for extremely lightweight kit that is also durable. The range was developed over many months by the MtnHaus™ innovation team, working closely with materials and component suppliers and Berghaus’ team of sponsored athletes.
The Hyper 100 is also in the running for another award, having been shortlisted in the UK Outdoor Industry Awards. Voting is now open for the awards at www.outdoorindustriesassociation.co.uk/awards.
The Berghaus Hyper 100 jacket and new Extrem Light collection will be available from www.berghaus.com and selected specialist outdoor retailers from March.
