New geometry, new materials and with a new manufacturing process

The Fixe 1-Hanger is the main protagonist in the redevelopment of our entire anchor line

Hanger packs and Hanger + Expansion bolt packs are also included

The new materials are: Ecotri zinc plated steel, 316L stainless steel and titanium

Fixe Climbing S.L. has recently worked hard to end this year 2020 with a very special line. The company from Sant Quirze de Besora (Barcelona) has renewed its entire anchor line.

75 new anchors are added, replacing PLX materials and bichromate steel adding as well titanium. To have a fuller picture of its line: product packs (12 references) and equipment and supplements (4 references) must be included, in addition to the (11 references) that are kept. The total number places the Fixe anchor line at the number 102 references.

New materials: Ecotri zinc plated steel, 316L stainless steel and titanium

Ecotri zinc plated steel

Replacing bichromate steel

Perfect for equipping indoor sport facilities, such as gyms, climbing walls and son on. It is the first line on the hanger range. Its manufacturing process is characterized by the low emission of residues, due to the Ecotri treatment and at the same time while increasing its resistance to corrosion.

On a coat of 8 microns of zinc coating, the Ecotri treatment (free of chromium-6) is applied and finished with an organic seal. With these three treatments a higher resistance to corrosion is achieved (96h white corrosion + 360h red corrosion) and the resistance to thermal shock (200ºC) is also incorporated.

Fixe does not recommend its use in outdoor or highly corrosive environments.

316L stainless steel

Replacing PLX (duplex steel).

In December 2018, the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) published the review of the EN959 standard, where it places stainless steel in the second link of its table of materials.

In 316L stainless steel we find a widely proven material, easier to work with at process and machinery level and, above all, widely used in a multitude of market components. We remain cognizant that sometimes, and despite not being the best practice, our materials are mixed, and that's why that we prefer to offer a known and compatible material to avoid for example galvanic corrosion.

Fixe does not recommend its use in highly corrosive environments.

Titanium-Glue in bolt

To make a definitive move regarding the prevention of SCC (Stress Corrosion Cracking), the titanium hanger line is also incorporated as the only one recommended for highly corrosive environments, such as, for example, marine environments.

A grade 2 titanium, no welding points, an U-shaped Glue in bolt, and its great lightness makes it the safest anchoring system in every sense.

New Fixe 1-Hanger. More breaking strength, lightness and reliability

The most prominent product among the new anchor line is the Fixe 1-Hanger. Fixes' Technical Department has worked throughout 18 months on the development of its new Fixe1.

37 years have passed now and therewith three geometric evolutions of what today this hanger represents, and in addition owing as well to the fact that it's probably the most used hanger in history.

The entire development and production of the new Fixe 1-Hanger has been carried out in Sant Quirze de Besora, where Fixe has worked in collaboration with the local metallurgical industry. This process has allowed full control in each step and the result of it is a lighter, more reliable hanger, with better control of the tightening torque, durable and safe.Fixe 1-Hanger renewed technology:

  • Rounded inner edge for less wear on the carabiners
  • Directs the carabiner for an optimal roof work
  • Conical Washer. Better control of the tightening torque
  • Anti-rotation pins
  • Optimized surface for full contact

Features:

  • Breaking strength: 25 kN.
  • Diameter: 10mm y 12mm.
  • Weight: 56g (10mm) y 57g (12mm).
  • Production: Ecotri zinc plated steel and 316L stainless steel
  • Manufactured in the province of Barcelona.

102 references and a solution for any situation

The current line of Fixe anchors with 102 references aims to provide a solution to any type of situation, that is to say:

  • The corrosion capacity generated by the environment.
  • The hardness of the rock or base material.
  • Surface complexities.
  • Location and pitch users.
