Mammut's new Claw GTX Shoe - Grips like a Gecko

© Mammut
Mammut, the top-end Swiss outdoor gear and footwear manufacturer, has developed the new Claw GTX, a shoe that sports a sole with outstanding reptilian grip, inspired by lizards and geckos – perfect for walking, trail running, approach, Nordic walking, as well as suitable for travel and biking.

The reptilia grip sole tread technology with its claw and rib tread pattern was developed in cooperation with vibram and offers outstanding safety due to optimum grip on mountainous terrain. Fashioned from a lightweight textile upper, combined with a PU mid sole that provides extra protection and a lightweight EVA wedge for extra shock absorption, these shoes are also 100% waterproof and offer very good breathability.

The shoe boasts a Base Fit feature for improved support and enhanced security as the free-sliding webbing transfers the power from the lacing area to the sole. The Claw GTX's Rolling Concept optimises the natural rolling behaviour of the foot, reducing fatigue and the 360⁰ heel support provides additional stability and reduces the risk of twisting an ankle.
