Alan James, Director of UKC/Rockfax is very pleased with the results. The colour reproduction is full and realistic.
The running sheets are the unbound printed pages of a book and all of West Country Climbs pages for the full print run have been printed. On Monday the running sheets go to the binders and the guidebook will be ready a week after that. UK outdoor shops will have stock the last week in July.
Stephen 'Fatboy' Horne - Rockfax's new designer and script wizard - and Alan finished the layout and design of West Country Climbs two weeks ago, and final corrections were made to the text then by Mark Glaister and other proofers. Such a turnaround would not be possible if Rockfax guidebooks were printed outside of the UK.
The guidebook looks amazing and opens up a wealth of climbing in the West Country. For the first time, climbers will be able to see many Cornish sea cliffs in their full glory as Mark took most of the cliff photographs from a boat.
I think, like many, I'll heading down there in August, copy in hand.
