The Filoment micro-rib jacket and vest offer lightweight, flexible layering options. Because of the weight and micro rib baffles they are highly effective at trapping warm air under an outer shell, making them a great insulating mid layer, but they can also work well as a outer layer for more active undertakings. Also when combining the jacket and the vest together, it offers up very lightweight, adaptable cold weather solutions that can be utilised throughout the year, rather than being restricted to a single warmer down jacket. 
Filoment is not meant to be a replacement for your trusty super puffed up down jacket in very cold weather; this class of jacket is much lighter and more fitted. Think of it more like a light, windproof sweater for the lightweight adventure athlete, something you can throw on over a base layer or a t-shirt.
