The Wild Country Variable Controller is a true classic in UK climbing - using the versatile double slot design that can be used for single or double ropes. Wild Country have made it so it has an angled 'wedge' design allowing you to 'vary the control' (hence the name!!).
The VC can be used in two different orientations, one will provide more friction, and the other will be slicker. This means that you can adjust the braking effects depending on whether you are belaying or abseiling and on different rope diameters.
