The Lowe Alpine Ascent Superlight - The Result of 50 Years of Climbing Pack Innovation Gear News

Lowe Alpine first came to prominence by producing climbing packs that met the needs of the top performers of the day. 50 years on and the new Ascent Range, featuring the Ascent Superlight continues this tradition.

The 30 litre Ascent Superlight is one of the lightest fully functional packs on the market and shares a design lineage with Lowe Alpine’s very first 1967 Expedition Backpack. Designed by mountaineers, for mountaineers, this pack evolves Lowe Alpine’s trademark HeadLocker ice axe attachment system to offer easier handling. Other features include sculpted shoulder straps for greater freedom of movement, a new TriShield Superlight fabric coating - specifically developed for this pack to increase abrasion resistance and a removable back panel that doubles up as a bivvy seat.

All are light, simple and functional and combine innovative new materials with refined designs. throughout the Ascent Range, combining a tough TPU coated fabric for high abrasion areas, with a lighter but strong plain weave for areas with less exposure. Ensuring durability whilst keeping the overall weight low.
