Eiger Extreme - By athletes for athletes Gear News

From high alpine expeditions to ski tours and ice climbing – the new Eiger Extreme collection offers the perfect product system for extreme scenarios. Each garment has been designed and tested together with athletes from the Mammut Pro team and improved until every last detail meets the Mammut motto of "Absolute alpine". 25,000 hours have been fed into the development for a total of 25 new products.

"I've been working with Mammut for more than two decades and used all the different Eiger Extreme Collections. In Mammut I found a partner I can trust entirely."
Steph Siegrist

Now in its fourth generation, the new Mammut Eiger Extreme collection is still setting standards for alpine mountain sports clothing. From high-alpine expeditions to ski tours and ice climbing, it offers the perfect product system for extreme scenarios.

The functionality, low weight and design of the line's products do not simply build on past success; as with the first generation in 1995, this Eiger Extreme generation defines and actively shapes the changing face of mountain sports.

"The Eiger Extreme Collection is shaped for the needs of a Mammut Athlete. These are the products we use for our peak performances."
David Lama

One of the top priorities was ensuring that each item feels like a second skin and adapts ideally to the athlete's typical movements in every situation. The new patterns were therefore developed directly on the athlete and open up a whole new level of freedom of movement. Mammut has focused on the most modern materials, top workmanship and optimal functionality. The products are so radically robust, light and ergonomic that they are equally suited to the most difficult ascents as well as new speed records.

Nordwand Pro HS Hooded Jacket Men

The Eiger, Matterhorn and Grand Jorasses – names that have come to epitomise the supreme mountaineering discipline: the north face. We therefore felt that it was only fitting that our best hard shell should be named according to the purpose it was developed for. Years of design refinements and numerous innovation steps are reflected in the outstanding fit and features of the Nordwand Pro HS Hooded Jacket.

We have revolutionised the tailoring concept for an alpine jacket with the Mammut Vertical Motion ConstructionTM and Mammut High Reach TechnologyTM. The result is unparalleled freedom of movement for climbing.

This GORE-TEX® Pro hard shell for extreme conditions shines not only in terms of fit, but also with its technical features. The Nordwand Pro has a storm-proof, helmet-compatible hood that can be easily adjusted vertically and horizontally even when wearing gloves. Waterproof, climbing harness-compatible external pockets, two large internal pockets for mittens, a detachable snow skirt and underarm ventilation meet every conceivable need.

To make you easier to spot in an emergency, we have integrated the Mammut High Visibility orange BackerTM on the inside.

Our Mammut Pro Team athletes played an important role in its development.

By professionals, for professionals in the mountains.

The torso area of the high-end jacket is filled with water-repellent 90/10 goose down with 850 cuin puff strength, sourced from animal-friendly operations. Under the arms and on the hood, PrimaLoft® Gold Active inserts with 4-way stretch ensure optimal moisture-wicking and freedom of movement - with or without a helmet. The outer material is the water-repellent and highly abrasion-proof Pertex® Quantum, to ensure the Eigerjoch survives even contact with rocks and your heavy backpack unscathed.

The same revolutionary pattern as used for the Nordwand jackets ensures that the Eigerjoch IN Hooded Jacket sits perfectly when climbing or mountaineering. The pockets are accessible even when wearing a climbing harness and the elasticated cuffs stop cold air from penetrating.
