3D and 2D NanoShell Technology

Sea to Summit has used a unique 3D Nanoshell technology to insulate, repel water, protect the down and improve loft. The 3D Nanoshell works as a condensation management system this is featured in the Alpine and Traverse bags only. The 2D Nano DWR finishes offers a super durable water repellent shell.

Down

The Alpine, Traverse and Micro bags use 850+ Fill Power (Loft) Goose Down. The certificate that comes with each bag states that the fill power is actually over 900! The down is the very best quality available for sleeping bags. It provides the highest insulation for its weight and will last the longest. The Trek bags use a 650+ Fill Power Duck Down.

Other key features include:

  • Unique Anti Snag Zip System
  • Innovative hood systems

Doesn't quite explain what the "unique nano technology" is, which could make a cynical consumer to suspect it's just another way of marketing DWR nylon...

yeah, i was expecting robots.

DWR is nanotech of a sort. Anyway, it looks like they've developed a liner to help prevent the dew point condensation you get with coated shell bags. http://www.seatosummit.com.au Interesting if it works.

I see. The idea makes sense, but only if the dew point happens to be near the outer surface of the bag.
