Western Mountaineering Expedition Series Sleeping Bags

A brief history

Western Mountaineering (WM) started in 1970 by two Californian mountaineers, whose emphasise on the finest raw materials, meticulous design and unsurpassed workmanship built the foundation of the company. WM have a vast range of down sleeping bags offering at least 3 bag lengths, 2 different zip options, 2 width fittings on key models, and a choice of shell fabrics to suit different conditions.

WM down is the very best available and is ethically sourced in Europe. Each batch is tested in Switzerland to ensure it surpasses the EU900 fill power rating, before shipping to the factory in San Jose.

The Puma GWS is the perfect partner for a winter mountaineering expedition. On the standard 6' bag, 1050g (37oz) of down lofts this bag to a full 9" to cope with temperatures down to -32°C. There is even room to layer up with a roomy 64” shoulder width and a reinforced foot section for use with boots.

As well as on the shell, Gore WindStopper fabric is also used to make the reverse differential hood, the full down filled collar and the double interlocking zip baffles. It is available in 5'6”, 6' and 6' 6” lengths with full-length left (standard) and right zip options.

It is available in 6' and 6' 6” lengths with full-length left/right zip options.
