Project Strata

The new Rab Strata range uses high quality technical components and classic mountain features to create a new breed of insulated jacket. Unlike heavyweight belay jackets, Strata products are designed to be worn during high output activities keeping you warm and comfortable, whatever you do.

The new Polartec Alpha insulation technology is key to the Strata concept. Rather than stuffing sewn baffles with bundles of synthetic fibres, which inhibits movement and gives uneven coverage, Alpha insulation forms a continuous sheet which requires no support structure. The same weight (80g/m²) is used throughout, except in the underarms which are left uninsulated for maximum breathability.

The outer fabric is made from tried and tested Pertex Microlight, which offers reassuring durability for daily use and good all round weather protection. Three different inner fabrics are zoned to provide the best possible performance.

The majority of the torso features a lightweight tricot which allows excellent airflow and a soft feel. High wear areas (such as the waist, back, shoulders and arms) are lined with a super light ripstop nylon, which keeps the weight and layering friction down without compromising durability. Finally the underarms are lined with the same light wicking tricot that is used on the Vapour-rise Lite range for improved moisture transfer.
