This has the potential to create a risk of serious injury or death. Consumers who own the Black Diamond Vision harness should immediately stop using it and follow the recall procedures. Black Diamond is committed to addressing this matter swiftly and proactively. The European market surveillance authorities have been notified.

This recall applies to the Black Diamond Vision harnesses (all sizes) manufactured and sold between January 1, 2018 and February 26, 2025. The Product Name, Style Number, and SKU is below. The Product number can be found on the waist belt tag.

This recall does not include the Vision AirNET RECCO or any other Black Diamond harnesses.
Recall Procedures
Owners of Black Diamond Vision harnesses should immediately stop using the harness and send it back by following the recall procedures (shipping is free of charge). Black Diamond is offering three remedy options:
Exchange: Quantities permitting, we can replace your Vision with the Vision AirNet RECCO.
Voucher: We are offering a € 200.00 (or equivalent in local currency) voucher to https://www.blackdiamondequipment.com
Request a full refund: If preferred, you may return your harness for a full refund.

Strewth. Just checked mine - a Momentum it turns out.
However, the failure appears to be UV degradation of the vectran material (https://ukbouldering.com/threads/black-diamond-vision-harness-recall.34399/) and my waistband looks very similar to that one...
Except your harness is not made of Vectran.
Which is quite a relief!
I know someone who is still climbing with a harness made of Vivan.
