New ALTIHeat™ styles for F16

If winter for you mean’s suffering from the misery of painfully cold hands or even Raynaud’s, these touch screen compatible gloves could be the solution that keeps the feeling in your fingers, and a smile on your face. Part technical winter glove - part portable radiator, they’ll provide you with instant warmth at the touch of a button, and you won’t have to sacrifice any of it for the sake of sending a text. Whilst they may be pricier than other outdoor gloves, they promise to earn your affection during sub-zero days in the mountains, effectively delivering heat across your hands so you maintain dexterity and function.

The new Capstone Gloves now trump the Lucent Heated Gloves and Mitts as the warmest product in the collection - and indeed the heated glove market –by offering four times more heat and power than any other competitor. At the other end of the Spectrum you’ll find the new Oberland Gloves are ready to bring an instant boost of warmth and style to your mountain casuals.

About ALTIHeat™

Designed to provide serious warmth on demand, Outdoor Research first introduced its collection of ALTIHeat™ in F14. Several years earlier their first forays into heated glove development admittedly led to numerous recalls and failures, and they vowed never to launch another heated glove collection until they were confident they could guarantee reliability. Critical to the recent success has been matching their expertise as leading designers of performance gloves with an established and proven partner of heating technology. They found this in ALTIHeat™ who had accrued over 20 years of experience developing heat sources compatible with motorcycle gloves. With ALTIHeat™ on-board, they could confidently set their horizons on building technically functional gloves suitable for ski-touring and alpine climbing. Built to protect hands in bitter cold conditions, prototypes were rigorously tested both in the lab and in the field to ensure they were truly designed for adventures in all weather conditions and environments.

Functionally superior and warmer than any other heated glove in the outdoor market, ALTIHeat™ is a flexible heating system that delivers heat across the whole hand, whilst adding minimal bulk and weight to the gloves. Each style has 3 heat settings so you can tailor the amount of warmth you need to your activity level. These settings are clearly indicated by an illuminated button located on the wrist and operating a simple traffic light index (red for high, orange for medium and green for low). The gloves are powered by the replaceable lithium battery(s) located on the inside of the wrist, and spare batteries are available for when you need a back up power source.
