Now that the festive season is upon us, Christmas shopping is in full swing. Since you're unable to buy the climber in your life what they really want...decent weather. We thought we'd suggest the next best thing! Have a read below for some gift ideas from EDELRID.

We thought we'd feature a variety of products at a variety of different price points. So whether you're looking for a stocking filler or a full blown gift. You're sure to find something suitable.

PARROT 9.8 MM 60M (RRP: £115)

The Parrot is a rope with enviromental sustainability at the core of it's design (excuse the pun). It is made from high-quality 'up-cycled' yarns left from the production of our other ropes. This not only makes it one of the most enviromentally friendly ropes on the market, it also means that every Parrot has a unique look and colour. The ideal gift in for the modern day climber!

SALATHE (RRP: £80)

The Salathe is our Flagship soft-shell helmet. The combination of the foam-injected EPP core and partial ABS hardshell means the Salathe only weighs a mere 200g. Don't think though that the lightness impacts the safety of the helmet. The Salathe complies with EN 12492, meaning that it offers excellent protection from all angles. It also looks cool, which as we know is just as important!

  • Ergonomic inner structure with removable, washable pads (including spare pads)
  • Easily adjustable harness straps for a secure fit, minimal pack size, and excellent ventilation
  • Headlamp attachment with 2 clips at the front and an elasticated strap at the back
  • Large ventilation openings for continuous air exchange and heat dissipation

JAY III & JAYNE III (RRP: £55)

Our best selling harnesses. The Jay and Jayne are the ideal choice for all types of climbing. Adjustable leg and waist loops allow the harness to be easily adjusted. The moveable padding on the hips not only allows the harness to be centered, it also provides the high levels of comfort needed for long climbing sessions.

  • Adjustable leg loops for optimum fit and full flexibility
  • Small waist belt pocket for storing an RFID chip
  • Movable padding at the hips for optimally adjusting and positioning the harness
  • Slide Block buckles for a comfortable and secure harness fit
  • Textile abrasion protector made of a combination of Dyneema® and polyester for a longer tie-in point service life
  • 4 symmetrical, high-strength gear loops, 2 attachment options for ice screw clips, and a chalk bag loop
  • Made of bluesign®-certified materials

JUL 2 (RRP: £30)

The ultimate below device for single rope climbing! Like all Edelrid belay devices the Jul 2 is assisted braking. However, unlike a traditional assisted braking device there are no moving parts, it works simply by camming the rope when the climber falls. Simple yet effective!

  • Body made of high-quality stainless steel
  • Optimized geometry ensures easy operation even for beginners
  • High braking performance assists the belayer with leader falls
  • Rope can be paid out faster to a leader by holding device in the "open" position with the thumb
  • Perfect handling, even for ropes with larger diameter
  • Suitable for 8.9 –11.0 mm single ropes

BULLETPROOF HMS SCREW (RRP: £20)

One of Edelrid's biggest innovations to date. At some point most climbers will have been forced to retire their favourite belay carabiner, due to excessive rope wear. This is where the Bulletproof comes in. We've put a steel insert at the apex of the carabiner, this means you're getting the lightweightness of an alloy carabiner with the durability of a steel carabiner. Kind to your rope, wallet and the enviroment!

  • Available with either screw or triple lock
  • Keylock closure system for optimal handling when clipping and unclipping
  • H-profile construction ensures best possible use of material and minimal weight
  • Steel insert prevents premature wear from rope friction or bolt
