Macpac Rucksack Range Highlights Gear News

Macpac know how to make packs - they've been doing it for decades. The current range of Macpac rucksacks bear the same design principles that Macpac are famous for - durability, usability and simplicity. Here are a few highlights from the 2017 range.

Alpine

Alpine Ascent 65

There aren't many packs on the market like the Ascent 65. Designed for big alpine adventures, the ascent is a simple, lightweight and incredibly durable pack. Perfect for multi day alpine climbing and expeditions when performance is paramount.

The Ascent 65 is made using a combination of two very hard wearing fabrics. Macpac's legendary 8oz EcoAztec fabric is used on the lid and sides for weather resistance and toughness. EcoAztec is a strong, heavyweight fabric that uses certified organic cotton and polyester yarns woven together and impregnated with waterproofing waxes and resins. On the front of the pack Macpac have used a 500d cordura nylon which will stand up to years of abuse from sharp tools and abrasive granite.

Features wise the Ascent 65 is pretty simple; it has a removable floating lid with cavernous top pocket, side compression straps, front daisy chains and a clean, comfortable thermo formed back panel (with removable bivy pad) and hipbelt. Weight 2.1kg.
