For summer 2019, Berghaus has introduced a new generation of large capacity load carrying backpacks for men and women. Top of the range are the Panamax packs – the men's and women's Panamax 70 (£180). Combining comfort, durability and the right level of freedom of movement with low weight, the Panamax backpacks incorporate some of the principles that Berghaus introduced successfully in 2018 in its Fast Hike packs. The unique chassis system is designed to mirror the body's movement, with wider shoulder straps that spread the load and help deliver an excellent, comfortable fit. The free-floating hipbelt provides unhindered movement, moving with the body, while also taking the load.
The Panamax packs are very versatile. The lids can be removed and attached at the front of the body, for keeping essentials handy and easy to reach, while the shoulder straps have mesh pockets for a GPS device or mobile 'phone. The main bag is made out of an extremely durable and lightweight nylon robic honeycomb 210D fabric and each Panamax rucksack includes all of the essential features for a sustained backpacking trip. The Panamax 70 weighs 1.89kg.
Berghaus has also overhauled its popular Trailhead rucksacks, refining and improving the men's and women's Trailhead 65 (£110) and 50 (£100) packs. All Trailhead packs incorporate an adjustable Berghaus BIOFIT™ back system, delivering great load carrying comfort and versatility. The fully featured packs are ideal for multi-day backpacking trips, offering high levels of performance at an accessible price. The Berghaus Panamax and Trailhead rucksacks are available now from www.berghaus.com and selected specialist outdoor retailers.
