Alpine Training Challenge, or just fun! How many routes can you lead safely in 1 day?
This challenge will mid-grade climber prepare for a multipitch Alpine ascent and such like! These classic VS routes (of varying styles), will test a range of skills; stamina, strength, technique, focus, strategy, even basic route planning.

Lead Safely?
Aim to reasonably protect every route. This is not a test of how brave you are. Aim for quick, slick, safe gear placement to compliment your ability!

Multi-Pitch Note:
With MP ascents you are not just protecting against slips, but rockfall, exhaustion, exposure (heat-cold-rain), and off route epics. So whilst speed is important, well placed gear could be a lifesafer!

Why routes @ Stanage Popular?
This minimises walking and helps simulate an Alpine multi-pitch scenario as the climbing is maximised.

Sustained Interest:
Most routes have 2 or 3 stars and challenge various skills, stamina, focus and strength, especially when attempted in one day!

How Many Routes did you climb? How long did it take?
NB - Recording conditions, start/end times and strategies used, will help to improve future attempts!

Completing all routes is 496 meters climbed and less importantly 58 stars!

Some Fun!
10 or Less - Miserable failure! Try tennis, or train harder. No beer today!
10 - 15 - You deserve a beer! Then train harder.
15 - 20 - Excellent. You are a confident VS climber. Beer x 2
20 - 25 - Slick gear placement. Strong as an Ox. Probably confident on HVS and E1's.
25 - 30 - Confident Extreme grade climber.
30 - 34 - You are ready for your next mission!
