Peak Limestone update for Rockfax Digital Gear News

© Rockfax

The recent good weather has left the limestone crags of the Peak District in good condition and we are delighted to annouce an update to the Peak Limestone package on Rockfax Digital.

There are new routes at Harpur Hill Quarry, Chee Dale Upper and Dale Quarry (Wirksworth), plus a couple of new crags added near Millers Dale. In addition to this are numerous tweaks and changes to other crags inclduing the odd grade change and line adjustment based on feedback.

In addition to these updates, Rockfax Digital includes crags and areas that aren't in the Peak Limestone guidebook. There's simply too many limestone quarries in the Peak for one book! If you like limestone sport this is reason enough to get Rockfax Digital. Here's a full list:

Goddards Quarry, Darlton Quarry, Bradwell Dale, Pin Dale, Ashwood Dale, Beerhouse Buttress, Deep Dale, Blackwell Dale, Taddington, Turkey Dip Rocks, Cawdor Quarry, Halldale Quarry, Bend Tor, Slaley Brook, Limekiln Quarry, Blue Yonder, Dale Quarry, Brassington, Hipley Hill.

This will be the third update added to Rockfax Digital so far in 2021 and is just one of the many that will be added throughout the year. Entire guides, areas and individual crags will be added to the app every month. All these are included in the subscription and come at no extra cost.

I have it all downloaded on my phone. Do I need to do anything to up date it?

Toby, did you have the green cycle "update" button next to the crags to update them? That should have shown on all the crags with updates available.

We had an issue rolling this out earlier whereby the app wasn't properly recieving the updated crag information. Try closing and reopening the app and see if those buttons appear.

Maybe just a UKC issue but I noticed access for Blue Yonder says it's banned, but then the notes say 'no issues'.

Hi Remus

That is a BMC RAD problem. We take the feed by default from RAD and it pipes in the notes however this crag is marked as banned on RAD (which it is) but doesn't have any notes in the section we use. I can over-ride it on UKC for the time being.

Thanks for spotting.
